Protection Levels

Choosing the right mouthguard THICKNESS

When selecting the right Protection Level option, what you're actually choosing is the thickness of the mouthguard. And no matter how many different options a company offers, or the confusing names they call them by, it really boils down to 1 thing: getting the customer into the right mouthguard for their sport!

In the 22 years that we've been making custom-fit mouthguards, we've learned that the differences between certain options are practically unnoticeable and offer no real benefit to the athlete. Also, having too many options to choose from can be confusing and frustrating! This is why we simplified this process and narrowed down our Protection Levels to these 2 options: Standard (universal thickness) and Heavy-Duty (extra thick).

If you're considering a Heavy-Duty mouthguard, don't worry about sacrificing comfort or breathing in order to get that added protection. Both of our mouthguard styles are extremely comfortable to wear and will allow you to breathe perfectly!

STANDARD - sufficient protection for just about any athlete in any sport while offering a lightweight feel. They measure approximately 3mm thick and are loved by everybody that uses them. This is our version of the perfect "Universal" mouthguard.

HEAVY-DUTY - the "big brother" of the standard option. They measure approximately 4mm thick and have more "padding" since they are 33% thicker. This style is mainly used by professional fighters that need that extra protection.
